Are You the Prize… or Just Proving Yourself?

May 26, 20252 min read

You’ve heard it before: “Sis, you are the prize!”

And you are!

You’ve worked hard, built an amazing life, and any man would be lucky to have you. But let’s be real… if you truly saw yourself as the prize, would you be working this hard to prove it to him?

Let’s talk about the difference between being the prize and proving you’re worth choosing.

Are You Operating in “Pick Me” Energy?

A pick me isn’t just a woman who begs for male validation.

Sometimes, it looks like:

🚩 Over-explaining why you’re a great catch. – “I cook, I clean, I’m educated, I have my own money!” (Okay, but what does that have to do with emotional connection?)

🚩 Trying to show him why he should choose you. – “I can help him build, I support his dreams, I’m not like other women.” (Sis, does he even deserve all that?)

🚩 Accepting bare minimum effort because you don’t want to seem “too much.” – You’re waiting for him to decide if you’re worthy instead of deciding if he is.

What It Actually Means to Be the Prize

👑 The prize doesn’t chase. – She’s open to love but doesn’t force it.

👑 The prize lets effort be mutual. – She’s not proving anything—she’s observing how he shows up.

👑 The prize knows she’s valuable… and acts like it. – She doesn’t beg, over-give, or accept inconsistency.

How to Shift from Proving to Receiving Love

💡 1. Pay Attention to How He Moves (Not Just How You Feel).

Stop focusing on what you bring to the table and start asking: What is he bringing?

💡 2. Let a Man Show His Intentions.

You don’t have to audition for love. The right man will see your value without a PowerPoint presentation.

💡 3. Shift from “What Can I Offer?” to “What Do I Desire?”

Instead of proving yourself, start asking: Do I actually like him? Does he align with what I want?
